iPhone 11 Pro vs. 11 Pro Max

iPhone 11 Pro vs. 11 Pro Max

This is the first time that Apple used a Pro suffix for its iPhone product. Both iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro max were announced in the recent September and considered to be among the best smartphones ever build. but, what is the difference between newly introduced iPhone Pro models? In order to answer this question, here we compared iPhone 11 Pro vs. 11 Pro Max.

Price and Design

This year, Apple hasn’t changed the design principles it followed during the release of iPhone XS and iPhone XR. The size of new iPhone 11 falls between iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max. Anyway, you definitely won’t confuse iPhone 11 with its pro counterparts. The body of iPhone is made of aluminum and glass whereas the iPhone Pro and Pro Max benefit from a more sophisticated look and design. Both these high-end phones feature a stainless-steel frame and have a matt glass finish on the rear. The color options include more traditional metal shades like pace Gray, Silver, and Gold as well as the newly introduced Midnight-Green version.

If you are a loyal fan of the iPhone, you may realize that the size and dimension of new iPhones are tracing the same pattern of iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR. iPhone 11 Pro is the tallest and widest among the recently announced iPhones, and it weights most (6.22 x 3.06 x 0.32 in – 7.97 oz). The most compact model is iPhone 11 Pro which is less heavy (5.67 x 2.81 x 0.32 in – 6.63 oz). Surprisingly, iPhone 11 is taller and thinker than its pro counterpart, though only by a fraction of inches.

Both pro phones have passed the water-resistance test and gained an IP68 certificate. It means that both iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are approved to be resistant to dust and water. But, as you know, not all IP68 phones are made equal. Apple claims that iPhone 11 can be submerged in water up 2 meters for 30 minutes. As an advantage, the pro versions can survive at 4 meters deep for half an hour and, though, are suitable for making films while enjoying Scuba diving.

This year, Apple once again started with a 64GB entry plan which cost $999 or $1,099 for Apple 11 pro and Apple 11, respectively. However, the storage seems too little for most users when they want to switch to high-quality images. The next option is 256GB for $1,149 or $1,249, which is the best choice for people taking too images. The most expensive plan offers a 512GB storage for $1,349 or $1,449. This plan is strictly recommended for users who record a lot of 4K videos or intend to use their phones as a professional camera.

Display

Unlike the iPhone 11 that makes do with an LCD panel, both pro versions come with a Super Retina OLED display. The screen in iPhone 11 Pro is 5.8 inches, while, the bigger brother, iPhone 11 Pro Max presents a 6.5-inch panel. Both models support a wide range of colors, but the screen resolution is improved in the Pro Max version (1125 x 2436 pixels vs. 1242 x 2688 pixels). So, it can be concluded that both pro models deliver a deep black color and astonishing color, but the Pro Max model offers a better user experience.

Camera

The camera system is where the pro models are standing out from the cheaper one. The iPhone 11 features a dual-lens rear camera- a 12-MP wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture plus an ultra-wide lens with an f/2.4 aperture. This two-camera setup brings the 2X optical zoom and a 120 degrees view to the iPhone 11 family. iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with a third 12-MP, too. As a consequence, the capability of pro models in shooting images and videos in the night and optical zoom is improved. With iPhone Pro Max, you will notice a big difference when taking portrait shots, due to the advantage of telephoto lens in focusing

Battery/Charging

Last year, Apple introduced us to a topsy-turvy world where the year’s least expensive flagship model, iPhone XR, stood out the more expensive counterparts in the battery life. Apple has fixed the problem with this year’s models. While the battery capacity was improved significantly in all models, the iPhone Pro versions have received a better boost. According to Apple, iPhone Pro Max takes the crown of longest-lasting battery it ever built with 5 hours longer than iPhone XS Max. The second place belongs to the iPhone Pro with approximately 4 hours better battery capacity than iPhone XS. If you look at video playback estimates, iPhone Pro will get up to 18 hours of continuous media playing, iPhone 11 Pro Max up to 20 hours. Both pro models are good enough to last for a full working day, but the Pro Max model gives an extra one or two hours before you have to plug your front-end iPhones into the charger. Both pro models benefit from an improved Fast battery charging feature. Apple says that with fast charging capability the most time is needed to charge a battery to 50% is only half an hour.

iPhone 11 Pro max is the most powerful iPhone you can buy. It has a bigger and better display and, its battery is the best battery among the iPhones. On the other hand, its smaller brother, iPhone 11 Pro benefits from all the advantages of the big brother except the third camera. In addition, iPhone 11 pro is cheaper and more compact, making it the best option for most people.
