IOS 16.1 Consistently Dropping WiFi Issue

More and more users are now complaining that upgrading to IOS 16.1 they are having problems with keeping their WiFi connection from dropping out. Most users have tried to upgrade their Modem/Router firmware for more stability in an attempt to compensate but that seemingly made no real difference in the connectivity state.

Often people are temporarily forced to disconnect the WiFi and use mobile data to circumvent the problem and attempt to reconnect later which is an incredible nuisance.  There is no mention of when Apple will address this drop out issue unfortunately.

Some users have tried “deleting the WiFi connection and re-adding it as well as heading to Settings / Privacy & Security / Location Services / System Services, and then switch off the Networking & Wireless toggle” to try and provide a work around. A few users have reported this has temporarily fixed the problem but many have said that it made no difference.

The problem originally started in IOS 16.1 beta and has yet to be properly addressed.  At this point we will have to wait for a fix to be patched in from Apple.
